The first is a red felt pennant promoting the 1974 World Heavyweight Championship fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman, a.k.a. “The Rumble in the Jungle”. Ali defeated Foreman with a knockout in the 8th round to win The Ring, WBC & WBA World Heavyweight titles. The pennant measures 27” x 9” and has been framed and matted to measure 34” x 15-1/2”. The pennant reads “WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - OCTOBER 29 1974” in yellow screenprint above “ALI FOR CHAMP”, a silhouette of Africa and “KINSHASA, ZAIRE, AFRICA” screenprinted in blue. Adjacent to the left and right are “GEORGE FOREMAN “WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMP” and “MUHAMMAD ALI “THE PEOPLE’S CHAMP” in white screenprint. The second is a white felt pennant promoting the 1976 World Heavyweight ChampIonship fight between Muhammad Ali and Jean-Pierre Coopman. Ali defeated Coopman with a knockout in the 5th round to retain The Ring, WBC & WBA World Heavyweight titles. The pennant measures 27-1/4” x 8” and has been framed and matted to measure 37” x 18”. The pennant reads “CAMPEONATO MUNDIAL - PESOS COMPLETOS - MUHAMMAD ALI vs. JEANNE PIERRE COOPMAN - SAN JUAN - PUERTO RICO - FEBRERO 29, 1976” e in multi-color screenprint along with the image tf Ali. The souvenir pennant was printed by “Imprint Art” of Fair Lawn, N.J., “©1975”, “Made in the U.S.A.”.
