This is an original 3-D painting by renowned sports artist Steve Sax of Muhammad Ali standing over a dazed opponent and being held back by the referee. The scene is reminiscent of the famed image of Ali standing over Sonny Liston after a first-round knockout in their second fight. The painting is done on solid wood and measures 49” x 36” x 3”, weighs 25 lbs. and is titled “Knockout” on the verso. Sax has signed the lower right corner in blue paint, as well as on the verso in red paint with the added inscription “08”. The painting is in EX condition. This lot will require additional shipping and handling charges due to it’s size, weight and fragility.
