WBC Heavyweight World Championship Belt dating to 1986 when Mike Tyson first won the title after defeating Trevor Berbick at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas. Tyson successfully defended the title nine times over the course of four years to remain the champ. The green leather belt measures 41” and has been framed in a museum-quality shadowbox frame measuring approximately 49” x 18”. The belt sports a gold-colored center plate that reads “WORLD CHAMPION WBC” surrounding the W.B.C. logo in relief. The perimeter of the center plate is adorned with the multi-colored flags of 79 different countries, each of which is enameled. The lettering is enameled in green and black and a crown below is enameled in red and white. Adjacent to the left and right of the center plate are two 1-1/2” medallions, enameled in black with a chain connecting them to the center. The left one features the image of Joe Louis in relief and reads “WORLD BOXING COUNCIL - LOUIS”. The right one features the image of Muhammad Ali in relief and reads “WORLD BOXING COUNCIL - ALI”. Tyson has signed the belt to the left of the Louis medallion, the large signature is in blue marker and rates a 6 overall. This item will require additional shipping and handling charges due to its size and weight. The belt is in MINT condition and is accompanied by a LOA from JSA. This belt was originally consigned by Jeff Hamilton who told us he got it directly from the Tyson camp.
