The gloves, robe and trunks offered here were worn by Larry Holmes in his final professional fight on July 27, 2002 against Eric Esch, a.k.a. “Butterbean”. “EVERLAST” manufactured 10 oz. red leather gloves with black trim. The “EVERLAST” manufacturers tag appears on the outer wrist of glove along with the “10oz/XL” flag tag. The “EVERLAST” logo appears on the outer portion of each glove in black and white screenprint. The original tape from the fight is still present, along with portions of the lacing after the gloves were cut off of Holmes’ hands. “GREG”, presumably the name of the referee who inspected the gloves prior to the fight, is written on both sections of tape in black marker. Each glove has also been signed by Holmes in black marker with the signatures rating a strong 8 overall. The gloves are in EX condition, they are properly tagged, were presented to us as fight-worn and show appropriate wear. White satin boxing trunks with red trim, the “EVERLAST” manufacturers tag appears on the front waistband. The “2XL” size tag appears on the inner front waistband, “LARRY HOLMES 1978-1985 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION” has been embroidered on the left leg in red. The trunks are properly tagged, were presented to us as fight-worn and in our opinion, show light use. “EVERLAST” manufactured white and red satin robe with size “50” tag on the inner rear collar. The “EVERLAST” manufacturer’s tag appears on both arms and the back. “LARRY HOLMES 1978-1985 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION” has been embroidered on the back in red, EX condition. Included are several photos of Holmes signing the gloves as well as a 19” x 25” framed fight poster that has been signed by Holmes and Butterbean. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
