Manuf: H&B: Model Number: Pre-Model. Length: 35 in. Weight: 39 oz. Labeling Period: 1922-24. Wood: Ash. Condition: Uncracked. Meusel’s name is misspelled “MUESEL” on the front barrel stamp in period block letters. Ball marks and stitch marks can be found on all sides of the barrel. Also visible on the bat are several depressions on the left and back barrel. The handle has been lightly scored to enhance the grip. The remnants of a single tape ring are still visible on the handle. The letters “J” or “d” and “M” are carved into the lower handle. The bat exhibits evidence of outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA as well as a photo of Bob Meusel with a bat having a very similar knob, handle and barrel dimension.
