OAL Barnard baseball signed by 17 members of the 1930 Philadelphia Athletics. Notable signatures include Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Mickey Cochrane, Lefty Grove and Al Simmons. Additional signatures include “Chick” Galloway, Rube Walberg, Jimmy Dykes, George Earnshaw, Bing Miller, Mule Haas and Max Bishop. The signatures are all done in blue ink and vary in rating. There is an added inscription on the west panel that reads, “PHILA. ATHLETICS 7-29-30”. The date corresponds to the 102nd game of the season in which the A’s defeated the Senators in Washington 7-4. The ball is in VG condition with moderate toning. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
