Duke "The Father of Surfing” Kahanamoku Autographed TLS & Vintage Original Postcard (2) (JSA)

Duke Kahanamoku was a five-time Olympic medalist in swimming but is credited for spreading the word for the sport of surfing. A vintage 3-3/8" x 5-3/8" original postcard of Kahanamoku has been mounted on black scrapbook paper, the hand-written caption reads “Duke Kahanamoku 1st Place 100 Meter Olympic Games. Stockholm 1912”. It is accompanied with a letter dated “3 September 1962” to a friend, 50 years after the 1912 Olympic Games. The letter is signed “Duke” in blue pen rating a 6-7. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
