One of the greatest shooting guards in NBA history, George “The Iceman” Gervin finished his NBA career averaging 26.2 points per game. Gervin was voted as an All-Star for 12 consecutive seasons (ABA and NBA) and took home the NBA All-Star Game MVP Award in 1980. Along with being the NBA scoring champion for three consecutive seasons (1978-1980), Gervin was voted as a member of the ABA All-Time team and the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History team. Enshrined in the National Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996. On the front left tail is a “Russell Athletic” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached below is a “100% NYLON” tag that is partially torn. Player number “44” appears on the front and on the back. Across the back reads “GERVIN”. All lettering and numbering are done in the same white tackle twill sewn directly onto the mesh jersey. We were told by our consignor that this jersey has originally sourced from the team’s equipment manager. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
