The 1996 Packers were a force to be reckoned with to say the least. Green Bay led the NFL in points allowed (210) and led the league in scoring (456). The Packers simply blew out their opponents, setting an NFL record with seven wins by at least 25 points. Led by Brett Favre, MVP of the league for the second consecutive season, the Packers posted a league-best 13-3 regular season record, with an 8-0 record at home. They entered the playoffs as the top seed in the NFC and would face the 49ers in the Divisional Round. The Packers had defeated the Niners several weeks earlier in a wild Monday night game that was decided by a 53-yard field goal in overtime. In the rematch, the freezing rain and snow at Lambeau Field made for muddy conditions that stifled both offenses; the 49ers managed only 196 yards and Green Bay gained just 210. The Packers still managed to rack up 35 points, thanks to five San Francisco turnovers, and they would move on to face the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship. The Panthers, in just their second year in the league, had knocked off the Cowboys, defending Super Bowl Champions, en route to the Conference Championship. After overcoming two turnovers early in the game, the Packers never looked back racking up a total of 30 points while allowing only 13. Green Bay would advance to Super Bowl XXXI, where they would face Bill Parcells and the New England Patriots. The Patriots featured one of the top-rated pass offenses in the league but the Packers defense simply dominated, intercepting Bledsoe four times. HoFer Reggie White, a.k.a the “Minister of Defense”, also set a Super Bowl record with three sacks. A 99-yard kickoff return by Desmond Howard in the 3rd quarter would prove to be the game-clincher and the Packers would take home the franchise’s third Vince Lombardi Trophy. This size 12, 10k gold player’s ring weighs 51 grams. The face of the ring reads “WORLD CHAMPIONS” and features approximately two carats of round-cut diamonds in the shape of the Packers “G” logo with 38 smaller round-cut diamonds surrounding the perimeter. The left panel reads “PACKERS” “1996” and “TRADITION”. The right panel features the player name “HARRIS” along with a casted image of a Packers helmet, “16-3”, the team’s record, and “55”, the player number. The inside of the ring is stamped “©10K”. The ring is in MINT condition. Originally sourced from Bernardo Harris.
