“GoldSmith” manufactured “Official 97 League” red and black stitched baseball featuring 25 signatures from members of the 1939 New York Yankees as well as several minor leaguers that played in exhibition games with the team. Signatures include Hall of Famers Joe DiMaggio and Chas Ruffing as well as Tom Henrich, Spurg Chandler, Tommy Reis, Bill Dickey, Buddy Rosar, Red Rolfe, Bill Matheson, George Selkirk, Doc Painter (trainer) and Johnny Schulte (coach). Additional signatures include Joe McCarthy (CH, mgr), Marius Russo (CH), Frankie Crosetti (CH), Johnny Sturm (CH), Lee Grissom (CH), Monte Pearson (CH), Oral Hildebrand (CH), Lefty Gomez (CH), Johnny Murphy (CH), Joe Gordon (CH), Babe Dahlgren (CH), Art Fletcher (CH) and Charlie Keller (CH). The ball is in EX condition with three ball hit marks prior to signing, the signatures are all done in black ink and rate 5-8 overall. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
