This basketball was originally sourced from a player from the 1972 USA Olymbic Basketball Team. In 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, a controversial finish gave The Soviet Union the gold medal and it was the first time since basketball’s introduction into the Olympics in 1936 that the USA didn’t earn gold. The “Nike” manufactured basketball reads “‘72 USA OLYMPIC TEAM” in red marker. There are 13 signatures on the ball in blue marker rating an 8 overall, including: Doug Collins, Tom Henderson, Kenneth Davis, Mike Bantom, Robert Jones, Dwight Jones, James Forbes, Jim Brewer, Tommy Burleson, Tom McMillen, Kevin Joyce, Ed Ratleff and “Coach” Bach. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
