First-ballot Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan led the MLB in strikeouts in 1988, but that shouldn’t surprise you. Ryan has the most career strikeouts in MLB history and had 11 seasons where he led the league in strikeouts. He won a World Series Championship in 1969 and has his No. 34 retired by the Houston Astros. On the front left tail is a “Rawlings” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag that reads “SET 1 1988”. Inside the rear collar is a “PROVA GROUP Jersey XA9F41C61A” sticker. Across the front reads “Astros”. Below is an “Astros” star logo. Player number “34” appears on the back. These are done in the same navy blue on white tackle twill. Across the back reads player name “RYAN” in navy blue tackle twill sewn directly onto a nameplate. Inside the “s” in “Astros” is a Nolan Ryan hologram sticker. Ryan signed the front of the jersey in blue marker with the added inscription, “33 Games - 220 Innings - 12 Wins - 228 K’s - 3.52 ERA” and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. “Rawlings” is embroidered on the right sleeve. There is minor blood staining on the front side of the jersey. This shirt was likely to be worn on the bench, as he was known to only pitch in "Goodman" manufactured jerseys. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA and an additional LOA grading the shirt an A10.
