Red Schoendienst was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989. He was a 10-time All-Star and a five-time World Series Champion, winning two as a player and three as a manager. Schoendienst managed the St. Louis Cardinals to a World Series Championship in 1967, defeating the Boston Red Sox in seven games. On the left front tail is a “Rawlings” size “46” manufacturer’s tag. Below reads “Schoendienst 68” in red stitching sewn directly onto the flannel jersey. Below is a tag with washing instructions, with a flag tag attached that reads “SET 1 1968”. Across the front reads “Cardinals” in red chain-stitching. Above, the “Cardinals” logo of two birds sitting on a bat is done in yellow and red chain-stitching. Manager number “2” appears on the front and on the back. Manager name “SCHOENDIENST” appears across the back. These are done in the same red felt on navy blue felt lettering. Schoendienst signed inside the rear collar in blue pen and on the front, adjacent to the manager number “2” in black pen and in our opinion, rates an 8 overall. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
