Ryne Sandberg was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. The 1984 NL MVP made 10 All-Star appearances, won nine Gold Glove Awards and was a seven-time Silver Slugger Award winner. His No. 23 is retired by the Chicago Cubs. Inside the rear collar is a “Rawlings” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag that reads “SET 1 1991”. Below is a strip tag that reads “23 91 2 44T”. Across the front reads “CHICAGO”. Across the back reads player name “SANDBERG”. These are done in the same blue on white tackle twill. Player number “23” appears on both the front and on the back, both done in the same red on blue on white triple tackle twill. On the left sleeve is a “CUBS” logo patch in red, white and blue tackle twill. The right sleeve has the “Cubs” bear logo patch. Below reads “Rawlings” embroidered in blue stitching. Sandberg signed the front of the jersey below “CHICAGO”, adjacent to the player number “23”, in black pen and in our opinion, rates a 7. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
