Lot #133:

1991 Gary Carter Los Angeles Dodgers Game-Used Chest Protector, Batting Helmet & Shin Guards (3)(Carter Foundation LOA)

Gary Carter was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003. On the strap of the chest protector is an “ALL-STAR” manufacturer’s tag. On the left chest of the blue protector reads “ALL-STAR”. Inside the batting helmet is an “american baseball cap” size “7 3/8” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is a warning label. On the back of the helmet is an American flag decal, a Canadian flag decal and an “ABC” logo sticker. On top of the bill is player number “8” and on the front of the helmet is a white “LA” decal. “MacGregor” manufactured blue shin guards. Inside on the knee padding of one shin guard reads “8 Kid” and the other reads “Kid 8”. Both are written in black marker. These items are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion show appropriate use.

Lots 128–136 presented in this auction are consigned to us directly from the Carter Family in an effort to raise money for their charity, The Gary Carter Foundation.
