A letter dated April 21, 1937, sent by the Vice President of the Yankees at the time, George Weiss. The content of the letter is strategic planning of the Yankees roster, including a discussing about acquiring a backup for Lou Gehrig if anything were to happen to him. “He furthermore states that he wants to be protected to bring back Dahlgren if anything happens to Gehrig...and have one of our third baseman out subject to recall, we will be protected in all positions.” The end of the letter is signed by Weiss in black pen and in our opinion rates a 7. Accompanied by a snapshot of Gehrig sitting in the Yankee dugout at Comiskey Park in July 1937. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
