Artis Gilmore was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011. Gilmore played five seasons in the ABA, being an All-Star in every one, winning the league MVP in 1972 and a ABA Championship in 1975. Gilmore was the first overall selection in the 1976 NBA dispersal draft after the ABA became defunct. Inside the rear left tail is a “Rawlings” size “40” manufacturer’s tag. Attached is a tag with washing instructions. Across the front reads “Kentucky”. Player number “53” appears both on the front and on the back. Across the back reads player name “Gilmore”. All numbering and lettering are done in the same white tackle twill sewn directly onto the blue knit jersey. There have been team repairs. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use. Accompanied by an LOA from Lloyd "Pink" Gardner, who was the trainer for the Colonels.
