Joe Fulks played for the Philadelphia Warriors for eight seasons. He was a BAA Champion in 1947, a year in which he also led the league in scoring worth 1,389 points. Fulks was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1978. To the best of our knowledge, this is the only known item belonging to Hall of Famer Joe Fulks. On the inside center tail is a “Wilson” size “46” manufacturer’s tag. On the front reads “PHILA”. Player number “10” appears on both the front and on the back. All numbering and lettering are done in the same blue on white tackle twill sewn directly onto the red shooting shirt. The back player number “10” is torn in some areas. Our consignor told us this was acquired in Philadelphia in the mid-1950s from the supervisor of an amateur basketball league in South Philly. This shooting shirt is properly tagged, was presented to us as player-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate wear.
