This item had the honor of being displayed in the New York Football Giants Legacy Club. This helmet was originally part of the Duke Hott Collection. Mel Hein was inducted into the Football Hall of Fame in 1963. He won two championships in 1934 and 1938. In 1969, he was named the center on the NFL 50th Anniversary Team and was named to the 75th Anniversary Team in 1994. Blue leather suspension helmet. On the center inner padding reads “Mel Hein Giants” in marker. The inside and outside leather is in overall good condition. There are paint chippings throughout the helmet. This helmet was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows great use.
