American League umpire Harry C. Geisel typed a letter to “Mr. George (Babe) Ruth,” dated April 15th, 1947. The letter begins with “My Dear Babe:” and continues on about how Geisel is concerned about Ruth’s health, along with his appreciation for Ruth’s professional career and that he won’t be able to attend Babe Ruth Day, saying “How happy I would be to be with you on Sunday, April 27th, but since this will be impossible I still will be with you in thought and I know this day will go down in history as the most outstanding day in the world of sports.”. The letter is signed by Geisel is black pen and in our opinion rates an 8. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
