Earl “The Pearl” Monroe was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1990. Monroe was named to the NBA 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996. Monroe scored over 1,000 points in nine of his 13 seasons in the NBA and was a four-time NBA All-Star. He won an NBA Championship in 1973 when he was paired with Walt “Clyde” Frazier in New York. That pairing is one of few backcourts ever to feature two Hall of Famers and NBA 50th Anniversary Team members. On the front left tail is a “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag that reads, “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the New York Knicks”. Below is a “Sand-Knit” size “42” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is a white strip tag that reads “3” LB”. On the right inseam is a tag that reads, “100% NYLON” with washing instructions. Inside the rear collar is a “GERRY COSBY” distributor’s tag. Across the chest reads “NEW YORK”. Player number “15” appears on the front and on the back. These are done in the same orange and blue tackle twill. Across the back reads player name “MONROE” in blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the white mesh jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use. Accompanied by an LOA from Mike Saunders, who was an athletic trainer for the Knicks from 1978-2005.
