The Pittsburgh Pipers started out with a bang in the ABA's inaugural year of 1967-68, winning the first ABA Championship. For the ABA's second season, the Pipers inexplicably moved to Minneapolis, to become the Minnesota Pipers. Bill Erickson, a 38 year old Minneapolis businessman and attorney, bought a majority interest in the Pipers and brought them in to the Midwest. Inside the rear collar is the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag with size “48”. Attached is a white flag tag which is partially detached. Inside the seam is a wash instructions label. On front is a large patch with “PIPERS” done in orange tackle twill and “MINNESOTA ABA CHAMPIONS” embroidered in blue chain stitch, all against a blue and white tackle twill background. On back is “pipers” done in blue on white tackle twill. The shooting shirt is properly tagged, was presented to us as worn and in our opinion, shows wear.
