This trophy was originally sourced from Zelmo Beaty, 1971 ABA Champion and Playoffs MVP. It stands approximately 46” tall and weighs 26 lbs. Presented to Zelmo Beaty following his record-setting 63-point performance against the Pittsburgh Condors on February 21, 1972. The trophy features a 27” tall brass cup atop a black wooden base that measures roughly 14-½” x 14-½” x 9”. A game-used Utah Stars ABA basketball sits atop the trophy, it was once re-secured with polyurethane glue and some residue remains. A plaque attached to the base reads “ZELMO BEATY - UTAH STARS - NEW AMERICAN BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION - SINGLE GAME RECORD - 63 POINTS - Versus Pittsburgh - February 21, 1972 - SALT PALACE - SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH. - "Also during game exceeded 12,000 point mark in regular season scoring." - "Only ABA player to accomplish this feat." The plaque also has a screenprinted photo of Beaty receiving this trophy. The plaque seems to have been updated at a later date, four small nail holes remain in the wooden base where the original was secured to the base. The trophy is in EX-NM condition. This item will require additional shipping and handling charges due to its size, weight and fragility.
