Earl Weaver was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. He managed the Baltimore Orioles to the 1970 World Series and his No. 4 is retired by the team. Inside the right tail is a “Rawlings” size “40” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. There’s a black laundry marker dot on the tag. Across the front reads “Orioles”. Manager number “4” appears on the front and on the back. The front number “4” has has a custom cigarette pocket sewn on the inside of it. Across the back above the manager number reads the name “WEAVER”. All numbering and lettering are done in the same orange on black tackle twill sewn directly onto the jersey. Below the back player number, Weaver signed the jersey in black pen with the inscription, “Game Used Jersey” and in our opinion rates an 8 overall. 1973 was the last year the Orioles sported the straight cut tail style. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as manager-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by an LOA from JSA.
