Bill Dickey was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1954. During Dickey's playing career, the Yankees went to the World Series nine times, winning eight championships. He was named to 11 All-Star games. As a manager and coach, the Yankees won another six World Series titles. His No. 8 is retired by the New York Yankees. Inside on the leather band is a very early “SPALDING” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent, 7 1/8 W. Dickey” is stitched into the leather. On the front of the hat is a white “NY” logo stitched onto the navy blue wool hat. The cap is in fantastic all-original condition. This cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and shows use.
