1955 Ray Herbert / Jim Small Detroit Tigers Game-Used Home Flannel Jersey

This shirt was made for Ray Herbert for the upcoming 1955 season. On May 11, 1955 his contract was purchased by the Kansas City Athletics from the Detroit Tigers. This jersey was likley worn by Jim Small who wore number 20 as a rookie for the 1955 Tigers. On the front button path towards the bottom is a “Wilson” size “42” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is a white felt strip tag with, “Herbert” embroidered on it. Adjacent is a year “55” swatch. On the left chest is the team’s “D” logo in navy blue felt. The player number “20” is on the back in the same navy blue felt lettering sewn directly onto the flannel jersey. There are some small holes on the back and the front right tail. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
