Willie McCovey’s No. 44 was retired by the Giants in 1980. Inside the front left tail is a “Rawlings” size “48” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached below is a white strip tag with “87 44” with a tag attached that reads, “SET 1 1987”. Across the front reads, “GIANTS”. Coach number “44” appears on the back. Above reads coach name, “McCOVEY” on a white nameplate. All numbering and lettering are done in the same black on orange tackle twill. On the right sleeve reads, “Rawlings”. On the inside front left tail of the grey batting practice jersey is a “Rawlings” size “48” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached adjacent is a grey strip tag with “87 44” on it. Across the front reads, “GIANTS”. On the back is coach number “44”. Both are done in black on orange tackle twill. On the right sleeve is a grey strip tag with “Rawlings” on it. These items are properly tagged, were presented to us as worn by McCovey and in our opinion show appropriate wear.
