Stan Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 on the first ballot. The three-time World Series champion was a 24-time All-Star, three-time NL MVP and seven-time NL batting champion. His No. 6 is retired by the St. Louis Cardinals. Inside on the rear sweatband is a “Harry Walker PRO MODEL 100% WOOL” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent is a size “7 3/8” tag and a “7 - 3/8” stamp. Inside the cap are two stamps that read, “UNIFORM CLOTH METCALF BROS. & CO.”. On the underside of the brim is the player number “6” written in marker. Adjacent to the “6” is what appears to be glue residue from a sticker being removed. On the front of the hat is the “StL” Cardinals logo embroidered in red and white stitching. This cap is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and attributed to Stan Musial and is accompanied by a Mears LOA, which mentions two Getty images, #51678784 and #53002270, that style matches to this type of cap to the 1960s.
