Reggie Jackson won three World Series Championships with the Oakland A’s before winning two more with the New York Yankees. He won his only AL MVP award as a member of the A’s. Jackson was a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 1993. Our consignor says this uniform was prepped to wear for the 1976 season but was unworn due to his trade to the Baltimore Orioles the last week of Spring Training. On the front center tail is a “McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP.” manufacturer’s tag. Attached adjacent is a “1976” year tag and a tag with washing instructions. On the chest is a large “A’s” logo. On the back is player number “9”. These are done in the same green on white tackle twill. Across the back reads the player name, “JACKSON” in green tackle twill sewn directly onto the yellow jersey. On the left sleeve is a Liberty Bell “1776-1976” patch. On the inside of the rear waistline is a “McAULIFFE UNIFORM CORP.” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent are three tags: “1976”, “31” and “24”. Player number “9” is embroidered in green stitching inside on the rear waistline. This uniform is properly tagged and was presented to us as game-issued.
