7” tall sterling silver cup trophy on a 2 ½” x 6” x 6” wooden base. On the base is a plaque with engraved text that reads, “Joan Payson Award - to - Gary Carter - New York Baseball Writers - 1986”. Joan Payson was the co-founder and majority owner of the New York Mets baseball franchise, and was the first woman to own a major-league team in North America without inheriting it. The award is in EX-NRMNT condition and is accompanied by a Carter family LOA.

This lot is consigned to us directly from the Carter Family in an effort to raise money for their charity, The Gary Carter Foundation.

The Gary Carter Foundation aims to better the physical, mental and spiritual well being of children as well as its primary focus, the Autism Project of Palm Beach County.
