Arnold Palmer is part of "The Big Three" in golf, along with Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, who are widely credited with popularizing and commercializing the sport around the world. Palmer won the PGA Tour Lifetime Achievement Award in 1998, and in 1974 was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. The 1964 Masters Tournament was the 28th Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. He won the tournament by six strokes to become the first four-time winner of the Masters. It was his seventh and final major victory. On the inside below the rear collar is a “Robert Bruce” manufacturer’s tag that reads, “PERSONALLY DESIGNED BY Arnold Palmer 60% ALPACA 40% WOOL”. On the left chest are the initials, “A D P” embroidered. There are a few minor holes along the rear collar and the back of the sweater. This sweater is properly tagged, was presented to us as tournament-worn and in our opinion shows appropriate use. This was originally part of a Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame exhibit that was on display at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is accompanied by the original cardboard display from that exhibit.
