The 2009 Lakers won 65 regular season games, 11 more than any team in the Western Conference. They defeated the Jazz, Rockets and Nuggets on their way to facing the Orlando Magic in the Finals. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to their 15th World Championship, their first of two consecutive titles. Bryant also earned the first of two back-to-back NBA Finals MVP awards. This stunning ring is identical to the ones that the players received; the rings were available for purchase by team employees and VIP ticket holders. This size 8.5, 15k gold ring weighs 69 grams. The top panel features the Lakers logo in gold atop the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy, it reads “2009 WORLD CHAMPIONS” along the upper and lower perimeter. The face of the ring is emblazoned with 148 round brilliant-cut diamonds with a total carat weight of approximately 2.75-carats. The left panel features the name of the recipient “GREULICH” along with the casted image of the Los Angeles skyline along with “LOS ANGELES”, “09” and the team’s record “65-17” adjacent below. The right panel reads “4-1 4-3 4-2” in relief, the records for each of the series the Lakers won in the playoffs. Adjacent below is “XV” to commemorate the franchise’s fifteenth World Championship along with the NBA logo enameled in red and blue along with “4-1”, their record for the Finals. The inside of the ring is stamped “JBH-338 15K”. The dazzling ring is in MINT condition and is accompanied by a LOA from the recipient, a family friend of the Buss Family as well as two LOAs from the designer, Jason of Beverly Hills. The ring is further accompanied by a high-tech presentation case with LED lights and motorized rotating display.
