The 1983-84 NBA season belong to Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics. Bird was awarded both the regular season MVP and Finals MVP awards en route to the NBA championship. On 3/20/1984, Bird delivered another stellar effort, scoring 25 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists. On the tongue of each sneaker is a “CONVERSE ALL STAR” manufacturer’s tag. The green sneakers with white trim have a “Converse” star logo on each side of each sneaker. Original lacing included. On the heel of each sneaker reads, “CONVERSE” with the company’s logo above. There is a small frayed spot on the front right side of the right-footed sneaker. These sneakers are properly tagged, were presented to us as game-used and in our opinion show use. Accompanied by an LOA about the consignor and Bird’s post-game interaction along with a photo of them with the sneakers.
"Back in 1981, I started waiting overnight for Celtics tickets and met most of the players "back court". I traveled to away games frequently and would meet Larry + Bill Fitch after games. On Friday March 20th, 1984, I went as usual back stage + waited for the players to come out so I could take pictures w/ them. As Larry came out of the locker room he had his sneakers in his hand + I asked him for them (just jokingly) but he handed them to me. The ball boy "Wayne" said he wouldn't be able to play without them + the next game they actually lost (my fault?). I am selling these to you as genuine game-worn sneakers - along w/ game book + photos of me w/ Larry Bird."
