The Spurs joined the NBA elite during the 1997-98 season. Led by rookie sensation Tim Duncan and David Robinson, the Spurs' team chemistry was aided by "little man" Avery Johnson (who dished out 591 assists), sixth-man guard Vinny Del Negro and reserve forward Monty Williams, though Williams' most publicized contribution came during an April brawl with the Lakers in which, a la Mike Tyson, he bit Kobe Bryant's ear. All the jerseys have the "Champion" exclusive labels with the year "96 97" and appropriate size labels. Across the front of the jerseys is the name "Spurs" in black on silver tackle twill and on the back are the players names in black tackle twill. Player numbers appear on both the front and back and on the upper left front is the gold "NBA" patch. The jerseys show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind. The Williams' jersey includes shorts, with the player number "3" written on the label in black magic marker.
