The 2002 NBA All-Star game was held in Philadelphia and it featured a tribute between two of franchise’s best players. Allen Iverson wore the No. 6 to honor Sixers’ legend Julius Erving. Erving’s No. 6 is retired by the franchise, along with Iverson’s No. 3. On the front left tail is a “reebok” manufacturer’s tag with three flag tags attached that read, “44”, “2001-2002” and “+2 LENGTH”. Adjacent is a red strip tag that reads, “EASTERN CONFERENCE ALL-STAR” with a Sixers embroidered logo on one side and an “NBA EASTERN” conference logo on the other side. On the left inseam is a materials tag, a tag with washing instructions and a “MADE IN USA” tag. On the left chest is an official “NBA” logo embroidered. On the v-neck is an embroidered star logo. On the right chest is a 9/11 memorial ribbon with a United States flag. Across the chest reads, “SIXERS” in black on red on white triple tackle twill with a glittered-silver on red on white star on top of the letter “I”. The player number “6” appears below and on the back. Across the back reads the player name, “IVERSON”. These are done in black on red tackle twill sewn directly onto the white jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. This jersey was acquired by Julius Erving III directly from Iverson after the game and is accompanied by an LOA from him.

This lot is accompanied by a hand signed LOA from "Dr. J's" son Julius Erving III

"I am writing this letter to attest to the authenticity of this 2002 Allen Iverson #6 Philadelphia 76ers Home Jersey that Iverson wore to honor my father, Julius Erving. Iverson personally gave the jersey to me and it has remained in my possession until now. I hope it makes a great addition to your collection."
