Jerry Sloan, the hard-nosed coach of the Utah Jazz, was even harder-nosed when he played in the Chicago Bulls' backcourt from 1966-76. Sloan's granite-like profile was the symbol of a team that chalked up three straight seasons of 50 or more wins in the 1970s. Sloan made the All-NBA Defensive First Team four times while also averaging 14.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Others on the team included Norm Van Lier and Bob Love, and a player's player in forward Chet "The Jet" Walker, a 7-time All-Star who rang up 18,831 points and an 18.2 ppg career average in 13 seasons, six with the Bulls. This lot includes Sloan's white Bulls warmup jacket with no name on the back and game-used shorts, as well as Walker's game-used shorts, all from the 1974-75 season The jacket has a "Sand-Knit" label with the size "44." "Chicago" is stitched across the chest in red felt with a black border and there is red and black trim on the sleeves and at the waistband of the snap-button jacket, which shows very slight wear and is in excellent condition. Both pairs of shorts are identical, except that Walker's has the player number "25" sewn into the interior next to the "Sand-Knit, Size 36" label and Sloan's player number "4" is sewn in next to the "Sand-Knit, Size "34" label. The white shorts have the Bulls' logo on each side against a red background trimmed with black and white. The top and bottom are also trimmed in red, black and white.
