It was said of Bill Bradley when he played basketball that he ran so much to get open, it was a wonder he didn't wear out the court under his feet. This piece of hardwood from Madison Square Garden was cut from the floor used during the 1970 and 1973 championship seasons when Bradley was a vital cog in the Knicks' offense. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1982, Bradley has excelled in a different arena, having served three terms in the U.S. Senate representing New Jersey in 1978 and made a run for the presidency. On the 6" x 4 1/2" wood block, which has the usual markings of wear, Bradley's signature is in black marker and rates a 10. The block stands upright in a metal stand shaped and perforated like the top of a basketball, with two Knicks logos and the dates "1970" and "1973."
