At Notre Dame, glory never fades. That explains why this full-length, hooded Notre Dame sideline coat from the 1939 season may be faded, and battered in spots, but its golden color and classic "ND" logo sprawled majestically across the back still shine as brightly as the noonday sun on the Golden Dome in South Bend. This awe-inspiring coat, which summons up the multitude of Irish gridiron legends spawned by Knute Rockne, was worn by Raymond Ebli, who played for the Irish from 1939-41. The coat, which measure 48" from top to bottom, has clasp-ties up the front and a zippered hood. Under the black "ND" logo is the player number "47." The interior lining in black and in impeccable condition and the entire coat presents an appearance that can make even a casual football fan tingle with excitement. The only noticeable damage is a tear on the elbow of the right sleeve, and a small tear on the left sleeve, but even these defects only seem to tell tales of iron-fisted men who'd give their eye-teeth to win. We are particularly proud to offer an item with as much history and which gracefully symbolizes so much of the magic of sports as this coat, which comes with a letter of authenticity from Ebli.
