Perhaps the most glorious of the many gifts lavished on All-American football players in the 1940s was this magnificent 48" x 70" wool blanket given to Agase in 1946, the final season of his illustrious career at Illinois. The blanket is in excellent condition and is colored a gorgeous cherry red with blue and white border trimming. It has a "Pendleton" label and the name "Alexander Agase"is written in large white capital letters above a circular yellow, blue, red and white "All America, Board of Football" patch and the school name "Illinois." The years "1943" and 1946" are also stitched on at the upper left and right corners, signifying that Agase was a first-team All-America selection in both of those years. There are also two bright yellow stars, one at each lower corner. Agase owned the blanket for many years and the blanket includes a letter of authenticity from him.
