“Wilson” manufactured “THE DUKE” model football embossed and stamped to read “GREEN BAY PACKERS WORLD’S CHAMPS 1965” along with “National Football League - Eastern Conference - Western Conference”. The football features the signatures of 48 members of the 1965 Green Bay Packers, the last team to win the NFL Championship before the Super Bowl Era. Notable signatures include 10 Hall of Famers: Vince Lombardi (head coach), Bart Starr, Ray Nitschke, Jim Taylor, Henry Jordan, Willie Wood, Forrest Gregg, Herb Adderley, Willie Davis, Dave Robinson. The signatures are done in black pen and in our opinion rate a strong 8 overall. Six of the Green Bay players featured on the ball were not on the team until 1966 leading us to believe the ball was signed during training camp prior to the ‘66 season. An additional eight signatures are present including those renowned cartoonist Bill Gallo, who did artwork for the Packers in the 1960s, and Dick Lynch of the New York Giants who faced the Packers in both the ‘61 and ‘62 NFL Championship. The signatures are done in blue ink and in our opinion rate an 8 overall. The ball is in NM condition and does not hold air. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
