We were told by our consignor that the hat was obtained by his father, a personal friend of Byron Nelson's. They were friends for over 20 years, the hat was custom-made for Nelson. On the inside of the hat is the “Biltmore” manufacturer’s tag. Under the inner rear sweatband is the size “7 3/8” tag. Stamped on the inner leather sweatband is “MADE IN CANADA”, “GENUINE LEATHER”, “Genuine Panama Excello” and “MADE EXPRESSLY FOR BYRON NELSON”. Under the right sweatband is a partially detached white manufacturer’s tag. The outside of the hat has a navy blue material that wraps around the entire hat above the brim. The hat is properly tagged, was presented to us as worn and in our opinion shows light wear.
