The highest award in broadcasting, this Sports Emmy Award for the "Technical Team Remote" category was presented to ABC camera operator Jack Cronin for the coverage of the 1989 World Series. The magnificent statuette features the goddess of television, standing with breast thrust forward and wings pinned back, arms extended, holding the satellite of the world in her hands. The gold-colored statuette stands approximately 15” tall with a base that measures 7-5/8” across. The gold-colored base features the casted image of a globe with latitudinal and longitudinal lines and “THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES” in relief along the perimeter. The base is engraved to read “1989 SPORTS EMMY AWARD - TECHNICAL TEAM REMOTE - 1989 WORLD SERIES - ABC - JACK CRONIN - CAMERA OPERATOR”. The underside of the statuette features felt backing which is fully present. The iconic award is in MINT condition.
