In the 1940's, Frank Sinatra personally sponsored a softball team named the “Swooners” to play with his celebrity friends as teammates. This is a “Swooners” baseball jersey from Sinatra’s team that once belonged to a publicist friend and teammate. The flannel jersey is sans manufacturing tagging. Across the chest reads “SWOONERS”, which has been restored. On the back is player number “12”, which has also been restored. All numbering and lettering are done in the same navy blue felt. There is a small rip on the back of the left sleeve. The jersey sans manufacturing tags, was presented to us as celebrity-worn and shows wear. It is accompanied by an original 13 ¼” x 10 ¼” black and white team photograph that pictures Sinatra and his team. Other celebrities pictured with Sinatra on his team include actors Anthony Quinn, Barry Sullivan and Robert Wagner and songwriter Sammy Cahn.
