Blank prototype of MTV’s iconic “Moonman” Award presented annually at the Video Music Awards (VMAs) since 1984. The silver-colored moonman award stands roughly 12” tall and weighs 6 lbs. The astronaut stands atop an “MTV” logo-shaped base with the impression of his boot. The back of the base reads “TM © 1984 MTV” in relief. Features a free-moving flagpole with an MTV flag attached. The black wooden base with silver-colored trim measures roughly 2-1/8” tall and 5” across. The underside of the award features felt backing which is a fully present. The award is in EX condition with some light tarnishing.
