“Wilson” manufactured “TED WILLIAMS SPEED BALL” with the year “1957” written in blue ballpoint pen. Notable signatures include Hall of Famers Yogi Berra (ss)(1957 All-Star), Mickey Mantle (ss)(CH)(1957 All-Star and AL MVP) and Enos Slaughter. Other notable signatures include Bobby Shantz (1957 All-Star and Gold Glove Pitcher), Bobby Richardson (1957 All-Star), Elston Howard (1957 All-Star), Bob Grim (1957 All-Star), Bill Skowron (1957 All-Star), Don Larsen, Bob Turley and Tony Kubek (AL Rookie of the Year). Additional signatures include Joe Collins, Johnny Kucks, Tommy Byrne, Tom Sturdivant, Darrel Johnson, Art Ditmar, Jerry Coleman, Hank Bauer, Woodie Held, Al Cicotte, and Ralph Terry. Also featured are minor leaguers James DePalo and Norm Siebern leading us to believe the ball was signed during Spring Training of the 1957 season. All signatures are done in blue ballpoint pen and in our opinion the signatures rate an 8 overall. The number “14” is also written in blue ballpoint pen on the ball’s west side. The ball is in NM condition with some minor toning. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
