Two-piece medallion set, one measuring 1 ½” and the other measuring ¾” in diameter, with the original forest green case. Both medallions are identical in reading “AMERICAN BASE BALL CLUB OF PHILADELPHIA” and “ATHLETICS”. The hinge on the case has been removed from the top. The medallions are in EX-NM condition.

These two 1911 Philadelphia Athletics "presentation medallions" are of a very similar design to the production 1911 World Series Press Pins. This example is the first known of its kind. They are made of high-quality materials and are not a souvenir or stadium giveaway. It is possible that they are parts of the press pin sans ribbon or early stage prototypes for the World Series presentation pendants, possibly struck or re-struck from the same die(s). Joseph McCready's 1911 Philadelphia Athletics Presentation Pendant recently sold at auction for over $21,000 and a high-grade 1911 Philadelphia Athletics World Series Press Pin recently sold for over $53,000.
