In 1981, Giants manager Frank Robinson became the first black manager in the history of the National League. On the inner rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and size “42”. On the front left tail is a white strip tag with “20 81” embroidered in black chain stitching. Across the front is “Giants”. Adjacent below and on back is the player number “20”. Across the back is the player name “ROBINSON” on a white nameplate. All lettering and numbering is done in black on orange tackle twill. Robinson has signed the front midsection in blue marker, in our opinion the signature rates an 8. On the inner rear waistband of the pants is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions, “85” in navy blue chain-stitching and a faint “33” in black marker. Adjacent to the left is a white strip tag with “20 81 25” in black chain-stitching and “20” colored over in black marker. On the inside pockets is “BARR” in black marker. This uniform is properly tagged, was presented to us as coaches-worn and shows wear. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
