Al “The Bull” Ferrara had his most productive season in 1967. In 384 plate appearances, he hit 16 home runs (a career high) with 50 runs batted in and a .277 batting average making him “Dodger of the Year” in 1967. “I was young, fun and wacky, and I had L.A. in my hands,” Ferrara said. Being a sports celebrity in Hollywood, he appeared in episodes of Gilligan’s Island and Batman. Recently, the Dodgers put Ferrara to work in their community relations department. On the front left tail is the “TIM McAULIFFE” manufacturer’s tag. Adjacent below is a green strip tag with the year “‘67”, a white strip tag with the size “44” and a white felt strip tag with “Ferrara” in blue chain-stitching. Across the front reads “Dodgers” in dodger blue felt. Adjacent below is the player number “9” in red felt. Across the back is the player number “9” in blue felt. Ferrara has signed the front of the jersey in blue marker, in our opinion the signature rates an 8. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use and is in overall fantastic condition. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA as well as an autographed 8x10 photo signed "Al (The Bull) Ferrara". The signature is done in blue marker and in our opinion rates a 10.

Please note that a correction and/or update has been made to this lot and the printed catalog differs from what is online.
