Baseball guru Bill James called Pedro Guerrero the best hitter of the 1980s. Pedro had it all; power, a high batting average (.300 lifetime), high on-base percentage, and good stolen-base percentage. On ESPN’s list of the 50 greatest Dodgers, Jon Weisman ranks Guerrero 14 because “Guerrero was the best hitter in the Dodgers’ first 30 years in LA.” In the 1981 World Series pitting the Dodgers against the Yankees, Guerrero factored into three straight World Series wins, but his crowning performance in Game Six sealed the series for the Dodgers. In that final game, Pedro totaled five RBIs and eight total bases amassed on a triple, homer, and bases loaded single. The one-man show capped a 9-2 victory and gave the Dodgers' their first World Series title in 16 years. Guerrero was named co-MVP of the series along with teammates Ron Cey and Steve Yeager. This was the first time in history co-MVP’s were named in a World Series. On the inner rear collar is the "W.A. Goodman & Sons" manufacturer's tag with wash instructions and size “42”. On the front left tail are two white strip tags reading the year “1981” in red print and “Set P”, indicating postseason, embroidered in Dodger blue. Across the front reads “Dodgers” in dodger blue tackle twill. Adjacent below is the player number “28” in red tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “GUERRERO”. Adjacent below is the player number “28”. Both are done in dodger blue on white tackle twill. Guerrero has signed the front left tail of the jersey in black marker, in our opinion the signature rates a 7. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by a LOA by JSA for the signature, an 8x10 autographed photo and a 1981 TOPPS encapsulated card graded MINT 9 by PSA.
