In 2013, Yasiel Puig had a truly sensational rookie year. Despite not being called up to the majors until June, Puig hit .319 in 104 games with 19 home runs and 42 RBIs. He was selected by Baseball America to their annual All-Rookie team and finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting. His name was included among the All-Star Final Vote candidates and Puig received 15.5 million votes, second to Atlanta Braves' first baseman Freddie Freeman who received 19.7 million. In Clayton Kershaw’s 2014 NL Cy Young & MVP acceptance speech, Clayton acknowledged his high level of respect for Puig by saying: “To Yasiel Puig, thank you for showing me things on a baseball field that I’ve never seen before. Both are done in the same dodger blue tackle twill. On the right sleeve is the “2013 POSTSEASON” patch embroidered in navy blue, red, white, silver and sky blue. On the back collar is the official “MLB” logo embroidered in red, white and dodger blue. Across the back is the player name “PUIG”. Adjacent below is the player number “66”. Both are also done in the same dodger blue tackle twill. The jersey is properly tagged, and was entered into the MLB database as team-issued.
